Economic Abuse

What is Financial & Economic Abuse?

Any action that takes away a woman’s right to be or to become financially independent or have control or input into financial decisions. For example: preventing her from getting or keeping a job, preventing or keeping her from improving her education so she can get a job or increase in pay, using someone for their money, keeping her on an allowance, making partner give up her money, expecting sexual favours in return for spending money.
