At Nipissing Transition House, we are often asked “What can I do to help?” “What do you need?” Due to lack of storage space and health and safety restrictions, we are not able to accept many used items to the shelter, such as used clothing, linens and toys. If you have any questions around this, please call the shelter directly at 705-476-2429 for clarification. We greatly appreciate it when people in our community want to support us and the women we help. We encourage those who wish to donate used items to donate these items to the agencies and stores in our community whose purpose is to look after them. Most of these stores in North Bay assist women in the shelter however they can.

The shelter and the women in our care are often in need of the following items:

  • Grocery food vouchers

  • Phone cards

  • 10 tripper bus passes

  • New socks, underwear and pajamas of all sizes

  • Additional Needs: umbrellas, alarm clocks, flashlights, batteries (all sizes), journals/pens
