STEPS Home is a 4 bedroom home for single women who are ready to the leave the shelter but are in need of additional support as they begin to live independently. Outreach and Transitional Housing Support, as staff of Nipissing Transition House, oversee STEPS Home. The purpose of STEPS Home is to assist women as they evaluate their lives, where they want to go, and how they are going to get there; then supporting them as they take concrete steps to put their plan into action. STEPS Home offers ongoing programming and one-on-one support as part of its mandatory requirements.
STEPS stands for: Synthesis, Transformation, Education, Purpose and Success.
If a woman does not qualify for this home or would rather live independently but wants to take part in the programming offered by STEPS Home, Women’s Outreach can provide the programming on a one-on-one basis.
